BILINGA SKILLS MAINTENANCE 2017-18
SKILLS MAINTENANCE DATES.
The Skills Maintenance Dates Are: 24 September 2017 @ 9AM, 29 October 2017 @ 9AM, 12 November 2017 @ 9AM, 26 November 2017 @ 9AM
YOU MUST LET THE CTO KNOW WHICH PROFICIENCY YOU WILL BE ATTENDING SO THAT ASSESSORS CAN BE ORGANISED.
BRONZE and SRC COURSE:
We have programmed a live-in Bronze Course at the club from 24/9/17 to 1/10/17, if you are interested in this course can you please email your EOI to CTO@bilingaslsc.com as we need to coordinate our numbers. In addition, we are facilitating a live-in Bronze/SRC course from 7/1/18 to 14/1/18 at the club, this course will target our SRC as it will be necessary for them to have the SRC award for Branch/State competition in February/March 2018.
The target group for the September group will be for primarily for Bronze nominations, due to SRC having late birthdays further in the year to eligible to undertake a SRC. If there are a eligible SRC aged 13 years at the time of the nomination or will turn 13 years at the end course (1/10/17) you are very welcomed to nominate for the September course.
CHAMPION LIFESAVER TRAINING.
I will be forwarding a Expression of Interest (EOI) to our members who wish to be involved in Champion Lifesaver Training
The event involves – physical skills, theory paper and resuscitation. The physical component comprises – Surf race, board race, beach sprint and rescue tube race. The theory paper involves 40 questions and the resuscitation comprises of two parts – Live patient assessment and one person CPR on a manikin. Points are allocated across all sections – the maximum points available are 120 or 40 points in each section.
The event allows our grass root patrolling members the opportunity to show case their lifesaving skills from SRC’s to Masters.
Any proficient lifesaver, who is a financial member of our Club may nominate for a Branch Champion Lifesaver event, provided they have the following pre-requisites:
· Under 14 – current and proficient Surf Rescue Certificate
· Under 15 – current and proficient Surf Rescue Certificate or Bronze Medallion
· Under 17 – current and proficient Bronze Medallion
· Under 19 – current and proficient Bronze Medallion
· Open/Senior – current and proficient Bronze Medallion
· 30 to 39yrs – current and proficient Bronze Medallion
· 40+ Years – current and proficient Bronze Medallion
A competitor will ONLY be permitted to compete in one age group at these Championships.
The PDB Surf Rescue Championships are programmed for the 13th and 14th January 2018 at the Pacific SLSC.
If you are interested to be become involved in the Champion Lifesaver event please email your EOI as I have arranged with Scott Brynes to have a information session at our club in the near future. The session will give you a overview of the event and what is needed to assist us for competition. In addition, I have involved Tugun, Kirra SLSC who are happy to join our group

It is envisaged that we will facilitate a IRB Drivers Course in August 2017, a Bronze/SRC Live-in Course in September 2017 and if needed a SRC/Bronze Course in December 2017.
