The fun of Surf Life Saving starts when you join Nippers!
If you’re thinking of introducing your child to lifesaving, then Junior Activities is where you start.
Lifesaving is something for the whole family to get involved in and there are many supporting roles that you, as a parent, can do.

ALL Returning Nippers please make sure you have Renewed or New Families have Joined and paid BEFORE attending a pool swim.

18 SEPTEMBER 2022 at the Tweed Heads Regional Aquatic Centre @ 10am and then back to Bilinga Beach @ 11am for Run-Swim-Run and BarBeQue at 12noon
Remember your goggles & towels – (New families will also need birth certificates)

If you have already joined and completed your pool swim – there’s no need to go to the Tweed Heads Regional Aquatic Centre.
Bring evidence of joining & paying – and – We’ll see you for your Run-Swim-Run on our beautiful Bilinga Beach on 18th September 2022 from 11am

You can get your swim coach to sign off on your swim proficiency. Make sure they add their email address and assessors number to the evaluation form.
From 2 October 2022 there are new pool evaluation forms. Please Download the correct Evaluation from for your Child’s Age Group

Stage One form is for Under 6 Under 7 and Under 8’s
Stage Two form is for Under 9 Under 10 and Under 11’s
Stage 3 form is for Under 12 Under 13 and Under 14’s

Unfortunely No pool swim means no Nippers (including beach activities)

All New Families need to complete a joining form online and pay the Membership Fees BEFORE they can do ANY Nippers – including the pool swim. See Members page for more details and “how to join”

* Active Members and Active Award Members  = $80
* Associate Members = $90
* Nipper Members = $90
* Nipper Family Members (of 4)  = $320
* Additional Nipper Family Members = $60

Once payment has been received – you will then need to Create a portal for every family member. This can be created under “Family Group” option on the portal

Members 18 yrs and over including NIPPER PARENTS – Please Note:

Your Membership or Renewal can not be processed until you hold a current Blue Card – NO CARD NO START and you MUST have completed the CYRMS Training and the SLSA Safeguarding Children and Young People Awareness Course BEFORE attending Nippers OR before 31 October 2022.

AGE MANAGERS – all your age guides and games manuals and forms are now on your portal.
Login to your Members Portal and follow these steps – Library>Member>Club Development>Nippers>QLD

To be an Age Manager the following must be completed
o Member must be registered
o Member must hold a Blue card
o Member must complete the online theory component prior to participation as an Age Manager
(Login to your portal – eLearning>training Library>SLS-Age Manager)
o Member must hold either a current SRC or Bronze or Observers
Once they have completed the online and other prereqs – a practical assessment is completed on the beach and a third-party report is done by the JAC

All Age Managers who do not hold a Bronze or SRC must HOLD an Observers Certificate – the course has an online theory section. This must be completed before the practical assessment is completed at the club.

CARNIVAL INFORMATION FOR SEASON 2022/2023 (Can change with little notice)
Parents must submit their Child’s Name and list of Events to their AGE MANAGER 14 DAYS BEFORE the closing dates for the Carnival. Ask the JAC for the form.

The Club will pay all carnival fees UNLESS your child fails to attend the Carnival. All costs will need to be reimbursed to the club.

If you like Umpiring – then you will love being an Official at Life Saving Events.
There are two levels for Officials – Core and Technical.
• Core Officials are only able to officiate at Junior/Nipper Events
• Technical Officials can officiate at junior and senior events Information about officiating can be found here:

Invitations will be sent out to clubs and members are to RSVP via the link in the invitation. Members are required to do online learning prior to the course (this information will be sent to the members who RSVP).

 Bilinga Youth

Active Members Aged between 14 and 17 years.
Over the Season a variety of supervised activities are organised eg: Pizza Nights, Bowling, Twilight Cricket, Halloween, sport challenges etc.
Make sure the Youth Officer has your email address or request for Facebook or Instagram so that you don’t miss out.

Bilinga Youth are also members of the Point Danger Branch Youth Group which also has various Activities over the season including TeamXtreme.
