Proficiency Day 4: 24 November 2024 @ 8:00am
Proficiency Day 5: 01 December 2024 @ 8:00am – ONLY if required and you have notified the CTO Before November 2024
All Active Patrolling and Nipper Water Safety with SRC will need to complete the 2024/2025 Skills Maintenance theory online BEFORE attending the Proficiency and before the 31 December 2024.

Requirements before Attending Skills Maintenance – steps 1 to 6:
- Be a financial member for the 2024 to 2025 season
- Have a current Bluecard and have “green ticks” in both the Working with Children Course tiles.
Members 18 and over must hold a current Blue Card (Working with Children)
If you have turned 18 during the off season or are a new member – you must complete Child Safe Awareness course before applying for the Working with Children card. This is a State requirement. - Complete the theory component online via your members portal (elearning)
It is an essential requirement that all current Bronze Medallion or Surf Rescue Certificate members complete the following: *watch a video update *complete the Sexual Harassment and Misconduct Awareness training module *online learning branching scenario *online radio module *online difficult conversations module *answer questions related to any of the above content.
It is an essential requirement that all current Award Members(including Observer Certificate Holders) complete: *the Sexual Harassment and Misconduct Awareness course
It is an essential requirement that all Radio Operator Certificate holders complete the following: *online radio module *the Sexual Harassment and Misconduct Awareness training module
It is an essential requirement that all current Silver Medallion Patrol Captain award members complete: *online learning branching scenarios
4. Read and understand the Skills Maintenance Bulletin 2024-2025
This season the skills maintenance practical will focus on carries and drags.
5. Book into the skills Maintenance session you wish to attend either through your SLSA Members account (elearning, click “Training Event” (on left) search calendar for your preferred proficiency date, click date and click “Enrol”
or email: cto@bilingaslsc.com to let John know which session you will be attending. Please don’t just turn up.
6. It is highly recommended that all members complete the QLD GWN Induction course before using the new radios during patrols. This training consists of concise instructional videos followed by related questions

Any Member not proficient by 31 December cannot Patrol for the rest of the season.

You can not just turn up – permission must be sort & paper work generated.
If you are over 18 Years you must hold a current Blue Card BEFORE you can Patrol AND have completed the Child Safety course

If you are coming back after a 12-36 months break – you need to get a swim time signed by an accredited personnel (they must include their ID on the swim form).
